What would be a better Sub Woofer Setup?

I have two of the following Subs and am wondering about powering them.

The Amps I have has the following specs.
Continuous Sine Wave Average Output Power per channel, both channels driven, 20 Hz to 20 kHz Stereo L/R Output
8 ohms:575 W

and I have another Amp that I could bridge and daisy chain the speakers making them 4ohmz (If I am correct, the ohmz thing with speakers was always confusing to me) but is is safe to do this?

There are two basic ways:

Keep in mind IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO have a L/R setup with subs, they are omni directional, so you cannot have the left and right sub, the frequencies go everywhere! Thus dont try, if you have two amps, the L/R output is meant for your mids/highs, not your subs. So you will want to use the mono setup. Daisy Chaining should give you more power to my understanding, contrary to popular beliefs.

If you're worried about blowing your subs, you should be alright dude, 18" are hard to blow for one, and also, the nubmer one cause of blow speekers is square waving, or UNDER powering, (telling your amps to pump more than they can, causing square waving, causing a ripped speaker.

I wouldnt worry too much man, just dont pump them to thier max, or if there's a volume on your amp, only have it at like 4/5 volume and have your source blasting if needed.

Is it better to put a sub woofer high toward the cieling or on the floor?

Debating on high location or a low location.

This depends on your acoustics more than anything else. No one can answer this unless they have been to your house and tested it. If you have the means I would test it out where you want to put it up high for awhile. In a soffit often works great if that is the only place you have for it. In my experience placing it up high tends to soften some of the impact of the sub but what you gain is the spread of the base. It becomes harder to tell where the bass is coming from which is good.
