Common uses of Sirens

sirens have come a long way since their first wide use in the Second World War. These initial sirens were civil defense sirens and were designed to specifically warn the public of air raids. They were an effective warning and indicated that people should prepare for an on coming air raid. Electronic sirens are the second common type of sirens that are popularly used today. The sirens are the newest type and are very effective in warning people in a wide area of danger. Electronic sirens sound very different from mechanical sirens as the way they are configured is also different. Electronic sirens use an electronic tone generator as well as a high powered amplifier with a horn loud speaker. Compression drivers are almost always incorporated into the electronic siren. These sirens are loud and can be configured to produce a variety of siren sounds such as a wail or yelp from the same systems. The amplifiers that are integrated in to the electronic siren increase both the quality and the pitch of the sound produced.

How would I make the description below more inhuman looking?

A nine feet tall humanoid male walks in. His heavy, thick body is composed of craggy granite that is plated and very jagged. His segmented horns start at the front of where his hairline would be if he had hair and move over his head, to the back of his skull where they extend outward, curl, and come to a point. His face is inhuman looking. His brow ridges are large and thick. Seven large stone spikes jut from each shoulder. In place of each arm, he has two prehensile granite tentacles that split at the end, into three radial “fingers”” that reach almost down to the ground. His legs are pillar-like structures. The feet are nearly round with four toes.

It's pretty inhuman as it is, but maybe instead of saying "His face is inhuman looking", say HOW it is inhuman looking. Does he have 3 eyes, no nose, pieces of slate for ears?

Additionally, how do you know it's male? It could be so inhuman you can't tell what gender it is, or if it has a gender in the first place.

What are the menisci?
They are two C-shaped structures that lie between the femur and tibia on the inside ("medial") and outside ("lateral") aspects of the knee. Historically, the function of the menisci was unclear, and some even considered them to be vestigial remnants of embryonic tissue like the appendix. For this reason, complete excision of the meniscus ("total meniscectomy") was not infrequently performed in the setting a symptomatic meniscus tear. What is the anatomy of the menisci?
The menisci are "wedge-shaped" pieces of cartilage that rest between the thigh bone ("femur") and lower leg bone ("tibia") in the knee joint. There are two menisci, a medial one on the "inside" of the knee and a lateral one on the "outside" of the knee. The medial meniscus is C-shaped, while the lateral meniscus is more semicircular in shape. Both rest on the tibial surface and are anchored to the bone at the front and back of the plateau ("meniscus roots").

There are three levels of meniscus tear, each with its own symptoms as follows:

1. Minor Tear
