Gemini Sound Mixer Sparked When I Pressed A Switch Please Help?

Hey There, My Dad Bought Me A Second-Hand Sound Mixer The Other Day At An Auction, And It Says It Uses 15V, But I Tried It With A 20V (IT FITTED AND EVERYTHING) But When I Turned It On And Pressed A Switch It Sparked? I Was Wondering If This Was Because I Used 20V Instead Of 15V? It Just Sparked At The Part Where You Plug It In The Sound Mixer. I Was Wondering If Its Worth Buying A 15V Adapter Or Would The Sound MIxer Just Be Nackered Anyway? Thanks

It sounds like the 20 volt power supply was too much for it. You need to use the correct voltage. Just because the connector fits is immaterial. Many power supplies use the same connector. It's not an indication that the device will run from that voltage. From what I see, this mixer wants AC voltage, not DC. This actually helps as the input will go to a transformer or a rectifier. This might mean that you didn't damage the main audio chips. With any luck you just popped a fuse. Check the back of the mixer and see if there's any fuse or circuit breakers to replace or reset. If not, you'll have to take it into a shop to see if it's worth repairing.
